Midlife education relieves anxiety and promotes happiness

Midlife education has helped us significantly reduce the anxiety that we felt during our midlife transitions.

The renowned twentieth century French philosopher Henri Bergson wrote that: “To exist is to change; to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly.” For both of us education has always been an important part of our own process of self renewal.

We’ve personally emerged from our midlife challenges happier than before because of a greater understanding of the phase of life we experienced.

For both men and women, particularly those in long-term committed relationships, understanding what their partner is experiencing will strengthen their relationship. We suggest six specific ways for women to deal with his midlife crisis.

A crisis can occur at any age. However, transitions are an integral part of personal development. We question the myth of male midlife crisis and prefer to view midlife as an opportunity for liberation. We propose some action steps you can take immediately to empower you.

We have found midlife crisis in women, as the popular media refer to it, is an opportunity for growth and development in women, perhaps even more so than for men. We challenge women to ask themselves six key questions for planning the next chapter of their life.

We tell the story of one woman who saw her midlife crisis, or midlife transition as we prefer to call it, as a way to re-orient her life and re-define her emotional and psychological self.

Are you showing signs of midlife crisis? Do you see yourself as a victim? We challenge you to take charge of your life and become the creative force in your life. We present the findings from a classic study for leading a happier life.

Midlifers don’t have to be trapped in the old paradigm of aging: decline, decrepitude, depression and despair. By understanding the process of midlife development you can achieve happiness throughout the process. We present key questions to redefine your learning.
