In the Lawrence Gold interview, Lawrence shares how somatic education interrupts the unconscious patterns of living and restores us to enhanced well-being

Lawrence Gold interview

In the Lawrence Gold interview, he shares how somatic education can relieve the suffering associated with chronic pain for which more traditional methods haven't been successful. Furthermore, from a base level of no pain, the individual can be brought to a place of mastery in their day-to-day living.

"Somatic education entails a basic transformation in our understanding of the human species and of the capacities of the human individual."

In the Lawrence Gold interview, he clearly distinguishes how somatic education offers a new paradigm in bringing people to greater self-awareness and healing.

Dr. Fred Lawrence, would you give our listeners a brief overview of the field of somatics? What is a somatic educator? How do you work with your clients?

Dr. Frank Who typically seeks your help? What conditions do you treat or maybe I should say provide guidance and education? What are the outcomes, benefits and advantages of the approach that you use? How has somatics affected your life personally?

Dr. Frank You speak to the importance of the “cat stretch” and “pandiculation”- the “whole body yawn.” Would you share with us what those are?

Dr. Frank From what I’ve read, back pain affects 85% of the population at some point in their lives. It seems to affect more people as they come into midlife and beyond. Why is that and how does your approach make a difference?

Dr. Frank The focus of your work is somatics. However, we know that body/mind/spirit are inseparable: they operate as a system. Chronic conditions are multi-causal. How do you address the other dimensions aside from the body?

Dr. Frank You offer two programs related to aging: What are their names? What is the myth of aging that you’re referring to and how do your programs affect the aging process?

Dr. Frank You offer two programs related to aging: What are their names? What is the myth of aging that you’re referring to and how do your programs affect the aging process?

Dr. Frank I’m intrigued by the title of one of your programs, “Deeper Lovemaking” instructional playbook. Would you share for the benefit of our midlife listeners especially, how this program will help their love life?

Dr. Frank Lawrence, please tell us how our listeners can find out more about your work.
